XRP rallied hard last week, gaining around 46% in seven days and briefly touching $1.69. The token opened August 19 at $1.0014, meaning it was trading nearly 48% higher at its peak.
The rally followed a White House meeting between President Trump and crypto industry leaders, including Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse. Trump called on Congress to pass the CLARITY Act, which would divide digital-asset oversight between the SEC and the CFTC.
XRPโs market cap crossed $91 billion during the surge, pushing it briefly into the top four digital assets by market cap.
Since then, momentum has slowed. The token pulled back roughly 12% from its weekly high. The most recent daily close was $1.4554, marking the second straight day of decline.
